Knowing your skin type is a very good start

It is important to remember that depending on lifestyle and other factors, your skin type may change with time. Knowing your skin type is a very good start. If you know where you are starting, you will know what to do to get the results that you want.

Normal Skin

This is the skin that everyone dreams they could have. This skin is plump, well nourished, soft, and has small to medium sized pores. A normal skin type is firm and smooth to the touch. This type of skin has no signs of dry or oily zones.

Oily Skin

Oily skin is shiny, and is thick. The pores are more visible, and due to the excess oil, this type of skin is prone to blackheads, pimples, and whiteheads. There are no dry zones for oily skin.

Combination Skin

Combination skin is a combination of oily and dry skin. The forehead, nose, and chin may be oily, but the cheeks and the skin around the eyes are dry or normal.

Some people with combination skin may suffer with acne-ridden forehead or cheeks that are dry, and everything else on their face may be normal.

Sensitive Skin

Those with sensitive skin are more prone to trouble with environmental factors because their skin is easily irritated. They may be more susceptible to sunburn, may experience rashes due to sun, wind, and extremely temperature shifts, and have more sensitivity to cosmetics.

Those with mature skin have a general loss of elasticity, superficial lines, and deep expression lines. They may also suffer from dryness as well.
